Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Computer Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of computer hardware and networking equipment. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair computer hardware issues, including components such as motherboards, hard drives, and peripherals
- Perform routine maintenance on computer systems to ensure efficiency and longevity
- Install, configure, and upgrade hardware components and software applications
- Troubleshoot network connectivity problems and optimise computer networking systems
- Read and interpret schematics for hardware repairs and installations
- Utilise hand tools effectively for equipment repair and assembly tasks
- Conduct system diagnostics to identify faults or potential issues before they impact operations
- Assist in the setup of new equipment and ensure proper integration into existing systems
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and system configurations
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to computer hardware components
- Proficiency with hand tools used in equipment repair and maintenance
- Extensive understanding of computer hardware assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting techniques
- Ability to read and interpret schematics for complex electronic systems
- Experience with computer repair, including diagnosing faults and replacing faulty parts
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures for various types of IT equipment
- Familiarity with computer networking principles, including setting up routers, switches, and network security measures
- Skills in equipment repair with attention to detail to ensure safety and functionality
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
