Maintenance Manager- Brownsover Hall Hotel
£32,000 per annum
Job Summary
Brownsover Hall Hotel is a beautiful Grade II listed manor house set within eleven acres of landscaped grounds on the outskirts of Rugby. Combining historic character with modern hospitality, the hotel offers 47 bedrooms, a popular restaurant and bar, weddings, events and conference facilities, making it a sought-after destination for both leisure and business guests.
We are part of Distinct Group Ltd, a growing hospitality company focused on service excellence, teamwork and delivering memorable guest experiences. We are proud members of the Hoteliers’ Charter, committed to fairness, inclusion and employee wellbeing.
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance of Brownsover Hall Hotel. With a historic Grade II listed building, extensive grounds, guest bedrooms and busy food, beverage and event spaces, this is a varied role where no two days will be quite the same.
This is an important position within the hotel, ensuring our building, facilities and equipment are maintained to a high standard while providing a safe, comfortable and well-presented environment for our guests and team.
What You Will Be Doing
As Maintenance Manager, you will take ownership of the hotel's day-to-day maintenance requirements, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across guest bedrooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces and the wider property.
You will be hands-on with general repairs and maintenance, identifying and resolving issues quickly and effectively while prioritising work according to operational needs. You will carry out regular checks around the property, ensuring maintenance issues are identified before they become larger problems and that the hotel continues to look and operate at its best.
You will manage planned preventative maintenance schedules and ensure all relevant records, checks and documentation are kept up to date. You will also work closely with the Hotel Manager and Heads of Department to plan maintenance activity around the needs of the hotel, particularly during busy periods, weddings and events.
Where specialist contractors are required, you will coordinate works, obtain quotations where appropriate and ensure contractors complete work safely and to the required standard. You will also help identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, reduce unnecessary costs and protect the fabric of this historic property.
Health & safety will be an important part of the role, working along the Compliance Manager you will ensure relevant building, fire safety and compliance checks are completed and any issues are escalated and addressed promptly.
What You Will Bring to the Team
You will have previous experience in a maintenance, facilities or property management role, ideally within a hotel, hospitality or similar customer-facing environment.
You will have strong general maintenance skills and be comfortable carrying out a wide variety of practical tasks. Experience across areas such as basic plumbing, electrical work, decorating, carpentry and general repairs would be particularly beneficial, while recognising when a specialist contractor is required.
You will be organised and proactive, with the ability to prioritise your workload and respond calmly when unexpected maintenance issues arise. You will take pride in the appearance and condition of the property and understand the importance of completing work with minimal disruption to our guests.
Experience working with older, listed or character properties would be advantageous given the unique nature of Brownsover Hall.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who takes ownership, enjoys solving problems and is happy to be a visible, hands-on member of the hotel team.
