The Leather Mob is the UK's first specialist all-things-leather boutique, with both a growing retail and online presence. We specialise in beautifully crafted leather products, including our own exclusive handbag collection imported from Italy, alongside a carefully curated selection of handbags, accessories, jackets, sandals, jewellery, homeware and gifts.
Quality, style and individuality are at the heart of everything we do. We continuously source new and exciting collections from around the world to ensure our customers discover something unique every time they visit us.
Since opening our first store in 2019, we have grown into a successful independent retailer with three specialist boutiques in Alnwick (Northumberland), Windermere (Cumbria) and Beverley (East Yorkshire), alongside an expanding international online business. About the Role
As a Boutique Sales Assistant, you will be an important part of our retail team, helping create the welcoming, personalised shopping experience that our customers love.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a friendly, enthusiastic and customer-focused individual with a genuine interest in fashion, accessories and quality products.
You will help bring our boutique to life by sharing your product knowledge, building relationships with customers and ensuring every visitor receives a memorable experience.
What You'll Do
- Welcome customers and create a warm, friendly atmosphere in the boutique.
- Provide personalised advice and help customers find the perfect products.
- Share your product knowledge and enthusiasm for leather, handbags and accessories.
- Deliver exceptional customer service from the moment customers enter the store through to completing their purchase.
- Support sales through confident product recommendations and upselling.
- Maintain excellent visual merchandising standards and keep displays looking their best.
- Replenish stock and help keep the shop floor organised.
- Assist with deliveries, stock movements and stock checks.
- Process customer purchases and payments accurately.
- Support online orders and other administrative tasks when required.
- Help maintain an immaculate boutique environment.
- Support promotions, events and social media activity where appropriate.
You'll Definitely
- Be a people person who enjoys talking to customers.
- Have a friendly, positive and approachable personality.
- Have previous customer service or retail experience.
- Enjoy learning about products and sharing your knowledge.
- Have good attention to detail and take pride in presentation.
- Be reliable, organised and able to work as part of a team.
- Be comfortable working independently when required.
- Have a flexible approach and willingness to work weekends on a rota basis (We aim, to give every team member at least one full weekend off each month and only require either a Saturday or Sunday on other weekends).
You Might Even
- Have experience working in fashion, accessories, luxury retail or a boutique environment.
- Enjoy creating content or engaging with customers through Instagram and social media.
- Have experience with online retail systems such as WooCommerce.
- Speak some Italian.
- Have experience working in a creative or brand-focused environment.
These skills are not essential, but they could make your role even more varied and enjoyable.

Experience & Qualifications
Previous retail or customer service experience preferred, but we are also interested in hearing from enthusiastic individuals with the right attitude and passion for our products.
