Recruitment Business Partner
Essex | Full-time | Calm Futures
At Calm Futures, recruitment isn’t just about filling vacancies. It’s about finding the right people to support some pretty incredible individuals — and that means understanding our services, getting creative about where we find people and making good recruitment decisions.
We’re looking for an experienced Recruitment Business Partner to take the lead on recruitment across our services.
This is a hands-on recruitment role. You’ll work closely with our operational managers to understand what they really need, build strong candidate pipelines and proactively find great people — rather than simply posting an advert and waiting for applications to arrive.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll own recruitment activity from vacancy through to appointment, including:
- getting out into our services and understanding the people we support and the teams around them
- working with managers to understand workforce pressures and recruitment priorities
- writing engaging, targeted adverts that actually reflect the role and service
- proactively sourcing candidates through job boards, CV databases, social media and direct approaches
- screening candidates and helping managers make confident, values-led selection decisions
- developing local talent pipelines for our harder-to-fill services
- building relationships with Jobcentres, colleges, community organisations and other local partners
- supporting recruitment for new services and growth
- improving interview and selection approaches across the organisation
- keeping candidates engaged and working closely with HR to make sure successful candidates move smoothly into onboarding
- using recruitment data to understand what’s working, what isn’t and where we need to change our approach
- helping us make better use of our ATS and recruitment technology, removing unnecessary admin and making recruitment simpler and faster.
What we’re looking for
You’ll already have strong end-to-end recruitment experience and be comfortable managing multiple vacancies and competing priorities.
More importantly, you’ll be a proactive recruiter. You know how to find candidates, not just process applications. You’ll be confident sourcing, screening and interviewing, and you’ll be comfortable challenging a recruitment brief or decision when you think there’s a better approach.
You’ll also be someone who enjoys building relationships. Our services are different, and recruitment needs to reflect that. You’ll spend time with managers and teams, understand the people they support and translate that into recruitment activity that works.
Experience within health and social care would be a real advantage, particularly learning disability, autism or supported living, but we’re equally interested in strong recruiters from other sectors who can demonstrate the right approach.
You’ll need a full UK driving licence and be happy to regularly visit our services.
Why this role?
We’re changing the way recruitment works at Calm Futures.
We want to move away from reactive, vacancy-by-vacancy recruitment and build a more proactive, person-centred approach — with better sourcing, stronger local talent pipelines, better technology and a consistently good experience for candidates and managers.
You’ll have the opportunity to help shape how we do that.
If you’re a recruiter who likes getting out into the business, finding solutions and taking ownership rather than waiting for the next application to land, we’d love to hear from you.
