Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the supervision of chefs and kitchen staff
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils
- Ensure all kitchen equipment and surfaces are sanitized and organized according to health standards
- Support the movement of ingredients and supplies within the kitchen to facilitate smooth operations
- Dispose of waste responsibly and manage recycling procedures in line with environmental policies
- Help with stock rotation and inventory checks to ensure freshness and availability of ingredients
- Support serving staff during busy service periods by providing clean utensils and assisting with setup
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or kitchen work is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and familiarity with restaurant or hotel kitchens is advantageous
- Strong understanding of hygiene standards in food service environments
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues
- Basic physical stamina for standing, lifting, and moving items throughout shifts
