Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and customer service while ensuring the timely delivery of products. Experience with bulk tipping is advantageous.
Duties
- Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition before departure.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of load.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and complete necessary paperwork for each journey.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Follow company policies regarding safety protocols and vehicle maintenance.
- Assist in route planning to optimise delivery times while considering road conditions and regulations.
Skills
- Proven experience (2 years plus) in commercial driving with a valid HGV licence.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods.
- Ability to operate effectively, including securing loads properly.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Good problem-solving abilities to address any issues that may arise during transport.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality in all aspects of work.
