We are seeking an experienced and motivated Service Manager to support the operational leadership of Surgical Services. Working closely with senior managers and clinical teams, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, efficient services, ensuring performance targets are achieved, and driving service improvements across designated specialties. The post offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to strategic developments while maintaining a strong focus on patient care and operational excellence.
Provide day-to-day operational management support across the service.
Monitor and improve performance against key access and quality standards.
Support effective use of resources, capacity planning, and service delivery.
Work collaboratively with clinical and multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient pathways and outcomes.
Lead and coordinate service improvement initiatives and projects.
Analyse activity and performance data, producing reports and identifying areas for improvement.
Respond proactively to operational challenges and support the management of patient flow and waiting lists.
Contribute to workforce planning, staff engagement, and the implementation of organisational change.

Support the Directorate General Manager in achieving operational, financial, and performance objectives.
Ensure services are delivered efficiently and meet agreed standards and targets.
Develop strong working relationships with clinicians and key stakeholders.
Assist in implementing service developments and new ways of working to improve quality and productivity.
Monitor activity, capacity, and performance, taking corrective action where required.
Coordinate responses to service-related concerns and contribute to effective governance and risk management.
Support business planning and financial management, including identifying opportunities for service improvement and cost efficiencies.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and patient-centred care.
