About us
Peques has been part of the Fulham community since 1999. We are a trilingual early years institution where English, Spanish and Mandarin are spoken naturally throughout the day, across two settings: Fulham Broadway and Parsons Green.
We are looking for qualified early years educators to join our teams, bringing their language, their culture and a genuine interest in how young children grow.
Our approach
We believe children are the protagonists of their own learning. Our role is not to insert information into children's minds but to guide them and draw their creativity out from within. We value each child individually and within their family, and we work in partnership with parents as the first educators of their child.
In practice, that looks like homemade meals prepared daily in our own kitchen, natural open-ended resources, an allotment, a pop-up library, yoga and sport, and three languages living side by side in every room.
Languages
Our curriculum is delivered in English, Spanish and Mandarin, and every room is staffed so that children hear all three languages each day. This role therefore carries a language requirement. Alongside English, you will need to be fluent in either Spanish or Mandarin, to a standard that allows you to work with children and speak with families in that language throughout the day. The requirement belongs to the role and applies equally to every applicant.
The role
Full time, Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 6.00pm. 45 paid hours per week, with a one hour unpaid break each day. Location: Fulham Broadway (SW6 1PB) or Parsons Green (SW6 7EG).
Salary
£33,000 to £37,500 per year, according to qualification and experience:
- Level 3 Early Years qualified and above: £37,500
- Level 2 Early Years qualified: £33,000
We are recruiting qualified practitioners only. Qualifications obtained outside the UK are welcome and will be assessed for equivalence during the process.
The salaries above apply on successful completion of a three month probationary period.
What you will do
- Provide high quality care and education in line with the EYFS, our policies and our values
- Safeguard and promote the welfare, wellbeing and safety of every child at all times
- Act as key person for a small group of children, building secure and trusting relationships with them and their families
- Plan and lead activities that follow children's interests, needs and stage of development
- Observe, assess and record children's learning accurately and on time, including online learning journals
- Support children through daily routines, settling in, room moves and the move on to school
- Encourage positive behaviour through calm, respectful and developmentally appropriate practice
- Work in genuine partnership with parents, communicating clearly and professionally
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, hygiene and confidentiality, indoors and outdoors
- Report any safeguarding or welfare concern immediately, in line with our procedures
What we are looking for
- A recognised Early Years qualification at Level 2 or above
- Fluency in Spanish or Mandarin, alongside English
- A real interest in children, and the patience and warmth to create a room where every child feels valued
- Someone who listens well and adapts how they communicate to children, parents and colleagues
- Someone who works generously alongside their team and contributes to a positive staff culture
- Someone who stays calm under pressure and finds practical solutions
- Initiative, and the belief that with the right attitude a great deal is possible
Professional development
We actively support Level 2 colleagues to gain their Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification while working with us. You will study alongside your role with structured mentoring from experienced colleagues, and your salary will increase at the 50 per cent and 75 per cent points of your course.

All appointments are conditional on an enhanced DBS check with the children's barred list, verified identity and right to work, a full employment history with any gaps explained, qualification checks, online checks, and satisfactory references including one from your most recent role working with children. Where you have lived or worked outside the UK, a certificate of good conduct will also be required. These posts are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. No one begins work with us until every check is complete and satisfactory.
