Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpenter/Joiner to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing a variety of wooden and other materials to high standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities
- Fabricate customised components using hand tools, power tools, and specialised machinery.
- Assemble structures, fixtures, and fittings in accordance with technical drawings and specifications.
- Install carpentry elements such as flooring, roofing frameworks, doors, windows, and cabinetry on-site.
- Perform joinery tasks including cutting, shaping, and fitting wood or other materials with precision.
- Conduct maintenance work involving construction painting, plumbing connections, masonry tasks, or electrical installations when required.
- Use scaffolding or ladders safely to access elevated work areas during installation or repairs.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations whilst maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.
- Assist in site preparation, organisation of materials, and clean-up post-completion of tasks.
Skills
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, carpentry, and joinery techniques.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers alongside power tools including drills and sanders.
- Knowledge of roofing systems, construction painting methods, plumbing basics, masonry work, and electrical experience is advantageous.
- Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely while maintaining good physical condition.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure precise measurements and fitting.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities combined with the capacity to read technical drawings accurately.
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
