Job Summary
We’re looking for a friendly, reliable General Kitchen Assistant / Kitchen Porter to join our catering team at the Elm Tree Inn.
This is a hands-on role in a busy, lively environment, perfect for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and doesn’t mind rolling up their sleeves to help things run smoothly.
The Pub has a growing reputation for delivering classic pub food and exceptional service and this role is essential for its continued success. - maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the Chef team with the preparation and service of meals
- Keeping the kitchen clean, tidy, and well-organised, including washing up and cleaning equipment
- Making sure food hygiene and cleanliness standards are always met
- Working safely in a high-volume kitchen
- Helping to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all staff
- Taking part in induction and any required training
- Pitching in with general kitchen duties to support the catering team
Health & Saftey
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety guidelines always
- Use kitchen equipment safely
- Report any hazards, accidents, or equipment issues promptly
Skills & Experience
ESSENTIAL
Own transport, Plus:
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to help
- Ability to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment.
- Good attention to cleanliness, hygiene, and safety
- Reliable, punctual, and happy to take direction
- Physically able to manage the demands of a practical, active role
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends
DESIRABLE
- Previous experience working in a kitchen, catering, or hospitality role
- Basic food hygiene knowledge or willingness to complete training

- Own or reliable transport to the pub

Pay: £28,000.00 per year
