We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Parent Help (also traditionally called ‘Mothers Help’) to support our family with childcare, cleaning and general chores required to support in the smooth running of a household.
Please note we require someone with experience in both cleaning to a professional standard and caring for children. You must have your own car and clean driving licence and be able to provide an enhanced DBS and recent references upon offer of the role.
This role offers a wonderful opportunity for a wonderful human to work in a busy 2 child home assisting parents with daily routines such as school pick up, club drop off, homework assistance, preparation of meals and the cleaning and maintenance of a 4 bedroom home and garden. The ideal candidate will be proactive, fun, kind and patient.
Duties
- Assisting with childcare responsibilities, including supervising children, driving them to and from local schools, clubs, appointments or venues. Important you prioritise making them laugh as well as ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
- Thorough household cleaning, including all tasks expected in a weekly cleaning service such as maintaining the cleanliness of surfaces, polishing, hoovering and mopping, internal windows, tidying of children’s bedrooms and playroom, cleaning of bathrooms x 2, general tidying and organising as required.
- Assembling or reheating of prepared meals and snacks and light shopping as required.
- Communicating effectively with parents regarding daily routines, needs, and updates
- Assisting with errands or other tasks as directed by the family.
Skills
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks efficiently. We are a working family and need an extra pair of hands that can use the time efficiently.
- Experience in rearing, loving or caring for children and one cat who thinks he is a dog.
- Good personal hygiene and high standards of cleanliness for a home.
- Ability to take initiative and handle responsibilities independently
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities within a household setting
- Ability to drive, clean driving license with access and use of vehicle which is safe and insured.
Days required - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday between 1400 - 1800. The schedule is likely to require 3 working weeks out of 4 depending on work schedules within the home.

Please note the hiring process is as follows:
1. 15 minute video call to introduce ourselves and to see if it feels like a good fit.
2. Paid, onsite trial for 3 hours within the home with parent to demonstrate cooth cleaning skills and relationship building with the children.
3. Offer, start date will be 23rd June or 7th July depending on candidate availability.
Pay: £12.50 per hour
