Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated VAWDASV Community Centre Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our community centre and community garden dedicated supporting survivors and children impacted by domestic abuse, sexual violence, and related issues. This vital role involves managing volunteers, coordinating programs, fostering a welcoming environment, and building strong partnerships within the community. The ideal candidate will be passionate about empowering survivors, and creating a safe space for all visitors. Duties
- Lead the overall management of the community centre, ensuring smooth operations and a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors
- Supervise staff and volunteers, providing guidance, training, and support to deliver high-quality services
- Coordinate and facilitate programs, workshops, and support groups tailored to meet the needs of victims and their families
- Work within a non-judgmental, trauma informed and solution focussed approach.
- Working with groups and providing individuals and their families with information, referrals, and emotional support as needed
- Develop and maintain partnerships with local organisations, agencies, and stakeholders to enhance service delivery and outreach efforts
- Manage administrative tasks including scheduling, record-keeping, reporting, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols
- Promote the centre’s services through community engagement initiatives and outreach activities to increase awareness and accessibility
Skills
- Strong management skills with experience leading teams in a community or hospitality setting
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with diverse populations including survivors, partners, and community members
- Knowledge of principles which ensure visitors feel safe, supported, respected, and valued
- Ability to coordinate multiple programs simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Compassionate approach with a clear understanding of issues related to domestic abuse and sexual violence
- Organisational skills for managing administrative duties efficiently
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs within a fast-paced environment

Pay: £28,500.00-£30,700.00 per year
