Are you a coffee professional who thrives under pressure? The Upwey Wishing Well is looking for a skilled, energetic Full-Time Barista to join our team in the heart of our historic ornamental gardens.
We aren’t just a café; we’re a destination. From busy summer afternoons in the garden to cozy winter mornings by the well, we need someone who can maintain high standards while the tickets are flying.
The Role
As our lead barista, you’ll be the heartbeat of the café. Your main mission is ensuring every cup that leaves the machine is top-tier, even when the queue is out the door.
- Crafting Perfection: Expertly dialing in grinders and pouring consistently high-quality coffee (latte art is a must)
- High-Volume Mastery: Maintaining speed, accuracy, and a calm demeanor during peak trading hours.
- The Full Experience: Assisting with front-of-house duties, serving our famous afternoon teas, and ensuring the dining area remains pristine.
- Hospitality Pro: Greeting guests with genuine warmth and managing the flow between the brew bar and the kitchen.
What We’re Looking For
- Expertise: At least 2 years of professional barista experience is essential.
- Pace: You must be accustomed to high-volume environments; you know how to work fast without sacrificing quality.
- Background: Proven hospitality experience is required. You understand the "guest-first" mentality.
- Reliability: You’re punctual, organized, and take pride in your workstation.
- Flexibility: Availability to work weekends and bank holidays is a must, as these are our busiest times.
The Rewards
- Pay: £12.75 per hour.
