The successful candidate must have a passion for service and food, be reliable and enjoy working in schools.
**Full induction and training will be provided by our experienced Chef**.
- 30 hours p/w, 07:45 a.m. - 13:45 p.m.- Monday to Friday
- Term Time Only 39 weeks a year, get paid during summer holidays and half terms
- You will work alongside other Kitchen Assistants and the Chef Manager.
The following role will require you to:
- Support the Catering Manager in preparing balanced, wholesome meals (breakfast, break time and lunch) for our students and staff.
- To serve meals, and to give attention to tables if necessary.
- Ensuring the kitchen and dining areas are kept clean, tidy and adhere to our health and safety standards.
- To participate in the production of food items in line with the day’s menu or with batch baking where appropriate.
- To talk to the pupils, staff & visitors as appropriate – in order to guide their choice of menu items and increase awareness of foods.
- To adhere to the in-house catering management system to all the house rules & critical control points.
- To wash all equipment, both kitchen and service items.
- To prepare the dining facilities – this includes, where appropriate the placing and removal of the tables and chairs to and from the storage area and also with the cleaning of the area after service.
- To participate in the completion of all necessary records as required.
- To wear appropriate uniform as required by the Academy.
- In addition, any other reasonable duties as requested by the Catering Manager.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications in Food Hygiene
- NVQ (or equivalent) in food preparation and cooking
- Numeracy / Literacy
