Transport Planner – Containers
Salary: Dependant on age and experience
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Transport Planner to join our growing transport operation. The role involves planning and coordinating container transport, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and optimise daily and weekly transport schedules for containers
- Allocate work to drivers and subcontractors efficiently
- Liaise with customers, depots, ports, and drivers to ensure smooth operations
- React quickly to issues such as delays, breakdowns, or last-minute changes
- Ensure high levels of customer service and on-time delivery performance
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Transport Planner ( containers)
- Strong knowledge of UK transport regulations and driver hours
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Confident communication skills with drivers and customers
- Experience with transport planning software Desin8, TOPS and VBS booking system for all ports and container depots
