Role Purpose
The Management Accountant is responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information to support business decision-making within the Wright Group of Companies. The role involves preparing management accounts, budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, and financial reporting, while working closely with operational departments to improve financial performance and control costs.
The successful candidate will act as a key business partner, delivering meaningful financial insights that support strategic objectives and drive continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
· Ensure timely and accurate month-end close processes.
· Produce financial reports and analysis for senior management.
· Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
· Maintain the integrity of financial records and reporting systems.
· Support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
· Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
· Analyse variances and provide clear explanations and recommendations.
· Work with operational departments to improve financial awareness and accountability.
· Collaborate with operational managers to provide financial support and guidance.
· Assist in evaluating business performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
· Support decision-making through financial modelling and scenario analysis.
· Challenge and influence stakeholders to improve financial outcomes.
· Assist with cash flow forecasting and reporting.
· Monitor working capital performance.
· Support initiatives to improve cash collection and supplier payment processes.
· Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
· Assist with internal and external audits.
· Maintain robust financial controls and identify process improvement opportunities.
· Support statutory reporting requirements where required.
· Contribute to the development and enhancement of financial systems and reporting tools.
· Drive automation and efficiency improvements within finance processes.
· Support ERP, BI, and reporting system developments
· Accurate and timely production of monthly management accounts.

Skills & Experience Required
Essential
· Part-qualified, finalist, or fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
· Experience in management accounting, financial analysis, and reporting.
· Strong knowledge of budgeting and forecasting processes.
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
· Excellent attention to detail and analytical & problem-solving abilities.
· Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
· Commercially minded with strong business awareness.

Desirable
· Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
· Experience within manufacturing, distribution, logistics, construction, or service industries.
· Knowledge of accounting systems such as Sage.
· Understanding of cost accounting and operational finance.
