- 12-hour shifts
- 7am-7pm / 7pm-7am
Ballantine Recruitment is supporting a growing manufacturing business in Liverpool with the appointment of an experienced Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer.
This is a genuine hands-on engineering position within a fast-paced production environment. You will be responsible for keeping equipment running, responding quickly to breakdowns and ensuring planned maintenance is completed to a high standard.
You will also have the opportunity to get involved in continuous improvement and engineering projects across the site.
The site operates a varied mix of automated production and packaging equipment, so this is not a role where you will be working on the same piece of equipment every day.
The role will include:
- Electrical and mechanical fault finding
- Reactive breakdown maintenance
- Planned preventative maintenance using CMMS
- Siemens PLC fault finding and navigation
- Conveyors, sensors, switches and pumps
- Packaging machinery, shrink wrappers and palletisers
- Compressed air and steam generation systems
- Supporting continuous improvement and engineering projects
- Working with contractors, permits and site inductions
- Ensuring engineering activity meets site HSE requirements
Who we are looking for:
Ideally, you will be an electrically biased Multi-Skilled Engineer who is comfortable fault finding independently and making good decisions under pressure.
You will need:
- Time-served Electrical Apprenticeship / NVQ Level 3
- HNC/HND Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Strong electrical fault-finding capability
- Sound mechanical engineering knowledge
- Previous FMCG / manufacturing experience
- Experience with conveyors and automated packaging equipment
- Bottling / canning experience would be highly relevant
- PLC knowledge - Siemens / TIA Portal preferred
- LOTO and permit-to-work experience
Steam boiler / BOAS experience and LEAN qualifications would also be advantageous.
