Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Housekeeping Assistant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our hotel’s housekeeping department. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest service. This role involves supporting the housekeeping team to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation, ensuring a welcoming environment for all guests. Previous hotel experience and knowledge of hospitality standards are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Housekeeping Manager in supervising the daily activities of the housekeeping team
- Ensure all guest rooms and public areas meet cleanliness and quality standards
- Coordinate cleaning schedules and allocate tasks efficiently among team members
- Conduct regular inspections to maintain hygiene, safety, and presentation standards
- Support training and development programmes for housekeeping staff
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring stock levels are maintained
- Address guest requests and resolve any issues promptly to ensure satisfaction
- Enforce health and safety regulations within the department
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations of housekeeping staff
Qualifications
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping or hospitality environments
- Previous cleaning experience is advantageous
- Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to motivate a team
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to hospitality settings
