FOUNDRY OPERATIVE - MUST HAVE PREVIOUS PROVEN EXPERIENCE
We have an opportunity for a Foundry operative role at our jobbing foundry in Keighley. This is a very labour-intensive role, which requires heavy lifting. The responsibilities will primarily be moulding, coremaking and casting of metal, but also assisting with furnace and fettling operations, and keeping site clean and tidy and safe.
PPE (RPE) is provided and is required for the full time on shift due to the nature of the job. Health & Safety knowledge is required, due to the hazardous nature of the role.
Hourly rates range £13.70 - £15.50 dependant on proven level of recent Foundry experience, salary will be discussed at interview for anyone that can demonstrate experience in the Industry, with the higher hourly rates for fully skilled operatives with proven experience. This is a permanent role and will be subject to a 6-month probationary period.
You must be punctual, reliable, able to take instruction and achieve daily targets. As this is a physically demanding role, you must be able to lift heavy loads (circa 25kg) and complete manual tasks throughout the day. You must be able to commit to full time hours (39 hours Monday - Friday). Our current operating hours are 0700 - 1600 Mon - Thurs, and 0700-1200 Friday.
Cranes, Sand Machinery operation experience, working with hand tools and other manual working experience is required.
FLT licence would be advantageous, but not required
Overtime rate paid after completing 39 hours, Mon - Fri rate - time + 1/3, Saturday rate time +1/2. (Business Need only)
Annual Holiday allowance (25 Days (195 hours) + Bank Holidays)
