Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activity Leader/Teacher to lead an after school eco club in Totton, Hampshire starting in September 2026. The ideal candidate will have experience working with primary school aged children, as well as an Enhanced DBS. This role involves delivering age-appropriate activities that promote development, learning, and social skills, fostering a safe and nurturing environment for all participants. A comprehensive curriculum with lesson plans will be provided.
Duties
- Deliver an after school eco club every week in a primary school.
- Engage children in a range of activities including STEM, art and craft, gardening, nature exploration, cooking, and eco citizenship.
- Foster positive behaviour through effective behaviour management strategies and mentoring.
- Maintain a safe, organised environment conducive to learning and play.
Experience
- An Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce) is essential.
- Prior experience working with children in early childhood education is highly desirable.
- Experience of teaching primary school activities is advantageous.
- Safeguarding and first aid certification is desirable but not essential.
- An interest in eco education.
- Proven communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Experience in behaviour management strategies to support diverse learning needs.
While currently one day a week, there is potential for more days to become available. The successful candidate will play a vital part in supporting children's growth while developing their own professional skills within a collaborative setting.
The pay is £18-£28 per hour.
