At Specsavers, we’re here to change lives through better sight and hearing, and behind every great customer experience is a strong financial foundation. That’s why we’re looking for an experienced Senior Reconciliation Analyst to join our team and play a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of our balance sheet. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on solving complex financial challenges, enjoys digging into the detail, and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality reconciliations that inspire confidence at the highest levels of the business.
In this role, you’ll be much more than a reconciliations specialist. You’ll act as a trusted finance subject matter expert, providing assurance over complex, high-risk and high-value balance sheet accounts across full balance sheet, from fixed assets, accruals through to debtors, creditors, reserves and other key control accounts. We’re looking for someone with strong technical experience in balance sheet reconciliations, financial controls and balance sheet integrity, ideally gained within a large or complex organisation. You’ll need to be comfortable applying sound judgement to complex financial issues, identifying risks, analysing root causes and driving effective resolutions that strengthen financial governance and control.
A key part of the role will involve investigating and resolving complex reconciling differences, identifying root causes of issues and working collaboratively with teams across Finance, Retail and the wider business to strengthen controls and improve processes. You’ll analyse trends, challenge unusual balances, assess materiality and risk, and provide clear recommendations that support strong financial governance and improve the quality of financial reporting. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you’ll not only perform complex reconciliations yourself but also support the review and challenge of reconciliations prepared by other finance teams.
You’ll also have the opportunity to influence and improve the way we work. From supporting reconciliation governance and control frameworks to enhancing processes, systems and automation, your expertise will help improve quality, consistency and efficiency across the function. As a senior member of the team, you’ll coach and support colleagues, share best practice and contribute to building a culture of continuous improvement. Your strong analytical skills, attention to detail, proficiency with Excel, finance systems and reconciliation tools, and ability to communicate confidently with a wide range of stakeholders will be key to your success.
If you’re part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA (or have equivalent finance experience) and are looking for a role where your balance sheet reconciliation expertise will genuinely make an impact, we’d love to hear from you. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team where your technical knowledge, problem-solving ability and passion for financial control will be recognised and valued. If you enjoy taking ownership, influencing positive change and working in an environment where you can develop both yourself and others, this could be the perfect next step in your career.
This role closes on 12th August 2026. So don’t delay your application, – you’ll be glad you did.
As an inclusive employer, we value diversity and are committed to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive. We are happy to consider flexible working arrangements wherever possible.
