This is a brilliant opportunity to join a respected News and Media team, driving forward Greater Manchester’s pioneering approach to public transport.
You’ll join a talented team, bringing knowledge and experience of the media to our busy press office taking a creative and proactive approach to telling the story of how the Bee Network is central to the city region’s success, with a particular focus on creating compelling broadcast-quality content.

Your Role
We are looking for a someone with a nose for a good story, who can think creatively to capture multi-channel content and knows how local, regional and national media work, having ideally worked in a press office or newsroom.
Working closely with the Media Lead and Media Manager, you’ll support internal and external clients to identify the stories that positively positions the Bee Network and all areas of Greater Manchester’s transport policy.
To do that, you’ll know how to source original stories, have a sound understanding of what makes a great media package, excellent writing skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues and journalists.
A team player, you’ll work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, helping to develop and deliver rich content, media plans and campaigns to support key organisational priorities.
Whether drafting press releases, filming or editing content, preparing spokespeople and organising press events or capturing content for social media, no two days will be the same.

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months, working in one of the most ambitious, exciting and high-profile city regions in the UK, where transport is at the heart of the growth agenda, with a salary of £36,093 - £41,161 per annum depending on skills and experience.
