Hours: Full Time or Part Time
Little Pickles Nursery is looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and qualified Preschool Practitioner to join our passionate and dedicated Preschool team.
This is an exciting opportunity to support children as they prepare for their transition to school, helping them develop confidence, independence, communication skills, and a lifelong love of learning.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), experience working as a key person, and the ability to create engaging, purposeful learning opportunities that inspire curiosity and support every child's individual development.
We welcome applications from Level 2 qualified practitioners (or above) who are passionate about making a difference and are looking to develop their career within a supportive and nurturing nursery.
The role will include:
- Providing high-quality care and education for preschool children
- Supporting children's learning and development in line with the EYFS
- Preparing children for their transition to school through fun, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences
- Acting as a key person and building strong partnerships with children and their families
- Planning and delivering exciting activities based on children's interests, next steps, and individual needs
- Supporting early literacy, communication, mathematics, independence, and school readiness skills
- Observing, assessing, and recording children's progress
- Promoting children's emotional wellbeing, resilience, and positive behaviour
- Working collaboratively as part of a friendly and supportive team
- Creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
- Following safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies and procedures at all times
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about helping children flourish and achieve their full potential
- Warm, caring, and approachable
- Flexible, reliable, and eager to continue learning
- A positive team player with excellent communication skills
- Creative, enthusiastic, and full of ideas
- Organised, proactive, and able to use their initiative
And of course, someone who can:
- Read the same story for the 25th time and still make it feel like the first
- Turn a cardboard box into a spaceship, pirate ship, or castle before snack time
- Celebrate every achievement, no matter how small
- Join in with superhero missions, dinosaur hunts, tea parties, and muddy adventures with equal enthusiasm
- Sing nursery rhymes, dance like nobody's watching, and laugh every day
- Offer reassurance, encouragement, and plenty of smiles as children grow in confidence and independence
If you would love to become part of our outstanding team and make a real difference to our Little Pickles' journeys before they start school, we would love to hear from you.
