Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and customer service, looking to contribute to a dynamic logistics operation. The position involves working with commercial vehicles and requires a strong focus on safety, communication, and organisation.
Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, including lorries and vans, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Deliver goods to customers’ premises promptly and in excellent condition.
- Assist with loading and unloading items, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain signatures upon delivery.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules or issues.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Follow company policies on health and safety, including proper handling of goods in warehouse environments when required.
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and organised at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within logistics or warehousing.
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is preferred.
- Ability to operate heavy vehicles such as lorries or vans safely and confidently.
- Experience with warehouse operations, including heavy lifting and manual handling.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Strong organisational skills to manage delivery schedules efficiently.
- Physical fitness to handle heavy lifting and long periods of driving or standing.
- Knowledge of local routes and navigation systems is advantageous. This role is ideal for motivated individuals who take pride in their driving skills, have excellent organisational abilities, and enjoy providing outstanding service through safe and timely deliveries.
- It is a self employed role and Mon-Fri only.
- Preferably between the age of 30-45.
- Must have access to own car for travelling to and from Depot.
- Salary is per hour and paid monthly.
- Location must be close to the depot.
