The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone starting their career in quantity surveying. Working alongside experienced professionals, you will gain hands-on experience across all aspects of commercial management, from tendering and procurement through to project cost control and final accounts.
You will receive mentoring, practical training, and exposure to live projects, helping you develop the skills required to become a successful Quantity Surveyor.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions.
- Support the measurement and valuation of works.
- Help prepare and issue subcontractor enquiries and analyse quotations.
- Assist with procurement of materials and subcontractors.
- Monitor project costs and help identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare interim valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation.
- Support contract administration in line with project requirements.
- Attend site visits and project meetings as required.
- Work closely with project managers, site teams, suppliers, and clients.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and health and safety standards.
About You
- A recent graduate or individual looking to start a career in Quantity Surveying.
- Relevant Highers or HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organisational and time management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Enthusiastic, motivated, and eager to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence is essential, as the role will involve travel to project sites.
