Salary: £27,500 Plus, a £140 per Month Attendance Bonus

P W Gates is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our busy HR team at our Welwyn Garden City – A1 Connect site.
Role Overview
We are seeking an organised, proactive and detail-oriented HR Administrator to join our busy HR team. This varied role will provide essential administrative support across the HR function, ensuring employee records HR systems and documentation are maintained accurately and efficiently.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who enjoys working in a fast paced environment and is looking to develop their knowledge and experience within HR.
Key Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to:
· Maintaining and updating HR databases and systems, ensuring all employee information is accurate, complete and kept up to date.
· Maintaining confidential employee personnel files and HR documentation in accordance with company procedures and data protection requirements.
· Completing and maintaining Right to Work documentation and ensuring appropriate records are accurately maintained.
· Preparing HR correspondence, including letters, contracts, confirmations and other employee documentation.
· Setting up new starters across all relevant HR databases and systems, including BrightHR, ensuring all required documentation is completed.
· Processing employee leavers and ensuring all relevant systems, databases and personnel records are updated promptly.
· Maintaining accurate employee absence and sickness records, including recording sickness, monitoring absences and ensuring supporting documentation is received and filed.
· Maintaining holiday and annual leave records and assisting with holiday administration.
· Supporting the administration and monitoring of probation periods, including arranging probation reviews, preparing documentation and ensuring review dates are tracked.
· Maintaining accurate employee training records, monitoring training requirements and expiry dates, and ensuring certificates and relevant documentation are kept up to date.
· Assisting with payroll administration by providing accurate and timely HR information, including new starters, leavers, sickness, absence, holidays, changes to employee details and other payroll-related information.
· Assisting with the administration of the company time and attendance system, including TruTac.
· Taking accurate and confidential minutes during HR meetings, including investigation, disciplinary, grievance, absence and other formal meetings where required.
· Preparing documentation and information for HR meetings, reviews, investigations and hearings.
· Providing general administrative support to the HR department, including printing, scanning, filing, photocopying and document preparation.
· Assisting with employee queries and directing matters to the appropriate member of the HR team where necessary.
· Ensuring all HR records and documentation are maintained to a high standard and are readily available when required for audits or internal reviews.
· Handling sensitive and confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion at all times.
· Supporting the HR Manager with day-to-day HR administration and other duties as required.
Essential Criteria
· previous HR administration experience.
· Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
· A high level of accuracy when entering and maintaining employee information.
· Good written and verbal communication skills.
· Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and confidently use HR systems.
· The ability to manage a busy workload, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
· A professional, approachable and supportive manner.
· The ability to maintain strict confidentiality when dealing with sensitive employee information.
· Good record-keeping and organisational skills.
· The confidence to communicate effectively with employees and managers at all levels.
· A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a wider HR team.
· Previous experience using HR systems such as BrightHR and/or time and attendance systems would be advantageous.
· A full, valid driving licence and access to a car is essential, as the role will require travel and visits to other company sites.
