Work Pattern: 2 days per week in office, 3 days remote
We’re recruiting a Business Support Officer to join the Experts at Hand team within Lambeth’s School & Educational Improvement Service. This is a key administrative role supporting educational progress for pupils with SEND in mainstream schools.
About the Role
As a Business Support Officer, you’ll develop and maintain effective information systems, provide administrative support, and coordinate meetings, panels, and training activities to ensure smooth delivery of the Experts at Hand programme.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Establishing and maintaining efficient systems for team administration and record-keeping
- Monitoring financial spend for Exceptional Needs Grant (ENG) and pooled cluster funds
- Organising meetings, conferences, training, and distributing agendas, minutes, and reports
- Coordinating strategic planning meetings across mainstream schools with SENCo, EP, AEP, Speech & Language, and OT professionals
- Processing referrals and ensuring documentation is stored and shared appropriately
- Tracking panel outcomes and ensuring reviews are scheduled and monitored
- Liaising with cluster professionals to support activities such as SENCo supervision circles
- Coordinating training days and events, including logistics and resource production
- Producing clear, concise reports underpinned by robust data analysis
- Maintaining accurate records on SharePoint and Mosaic
- Acting as the main point of contact for panel members and managing communications
- Supporting diary management, purchase orders, and office supplies
- Preparing draft letters, reports, and outcome letters for panels
- Promoting the work of Experts at Hand positively and contributing to service reputation
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking candidates with:
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Experience in managing information systems and financial monitoring
- Ability to coordinate meetings, training, and multi-professional activities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong IT skills (SharePoint, Mosaic, Microsoft Office)
- Ability to analyse data and produce accurate reports
- Knowledge of SEND processes and educational support structures (desirable)
- Enhanced DBS clearance (required)
