Kitchen Porter (Full-Time)
Location: Long Sutton Golf Club
Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Daytime and evening shifts required, including weekday and weekend evenings for private functions
Reports to: Head Chef
Wage: Dependant on experience
Job Overview
The Kitchen Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen environment. The role supports the kitchen team by ensuring all equipment, utensils, and work areas are cleaned and maintained to a high standard, and assisting during service and private events when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash and clean all kitchen equipment, utensils, pots, pans, and crockery
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas
- Sweep, mop, and ensure safe working conditions at all times
- Dispose of waste correctly and follow recycling procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation when required
- Unload and store deliveries correctly
- Support chefs during busy kitchen service periods
- Work weekday evenings when required for private functions and events
- Work weekend evenings when required for weddings, events, and private bookings
- Follow all food hygiene, health, and safety regulations
- Report any maintenance or safety issues promptly
Requirements
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Good attention to cleanliness and detail
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Flexibility to work daytimes, evenings, weekdays, and weekends as required
- Previous kitchen experience is helpful but not essential
Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour
