Complex Care Support Worker
A Complex Care Worker provides high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with complex health and physical care needs in their own homes.
The role involves supporting a young person with ASD, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, sensory and social communication needs.
This role is weekends only, 4 hours per week with a view to increase to weekday evenings.
£14.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care including washing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and continence care while promoting dignity and independence.
- Staff should have experience of epilepsy awareness, autism-informed approaches, positive behaviour support and safe community access
- Provide safe moving and handling support using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Support with medication administration in line with care plans and company policies.
- Observe and report changes in an individual’s physical, emotional, or mental wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records, incident reports, and daily documentation ensuring safeguarding procedures are following and reporting any concerns or changes appropriately.
- Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, healthcare professionals, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Must have have a clean driving licence and use of a car with business use insurance
- Minimum 1 year’s experience supporting individuals with complex care needs in a home care, community, or residential setting.
- Experience of epilepsy awareness, autism-informed approaches, positive behaviour support
- Calm, patient and confident in supporting a young person with complex physical, medical, sensory and social communication needs.
- Strong understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding, dignity, and promoting independence.
- Confident in delivering personal care, moving and handling, and following detailed care plans and clinical protocols.
- Excellent communication, observation, and teamwork skills with the ability to respond calmly in challenging situations.
- Compassionate, reliable, and able to build positive relationships with service users, families, and healthcare professionals.
