Security Engineer – CCTV, Access Control & Door Entry
Location: Bromley, South London
Rate: £220 per day
Contract: Self-employed / CIS
Duration: Minimum 6 months

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Security Engineer to join a social housing maintenance contract covering Bromley and surrounding areas of South London.
The successful engineer will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance and fault-finding of CCTV, access control and door entry systems across social housing properties and communal areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, service and maintain CCTV systems within residential and communal properties
- Install and maintain access control systems, including electronic locks, readers and controllers
- Install, service and repair door entry and intercom systems
- Diagnose and repair faults across CCTV, access control and door entry systems
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs
- Replace faulty components, cabling, power supplies and associated equipment
- Test systems following installation or repair to ensure they are fully operational
- Configure and commission security systems where required
- Attend properties and communal areas to investigate reported faults
- Liaise professionally with residents, clients and other contractors
- Complete job sheets, service reports and relevant documentation using a PDA/mobile device
- Ensure all works are completed to the required quality and health & safety standards
- Work in accordance with client procedures and social housing requirements
- Maintain accurate records of completed works and materials used
- Manage own daily workload and appointments effectively
- Provide a professional service when working in occupied residential properties
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Security Engineer
- Strong experience with CCTV, access control and door entry systems
- Experience working on social housing, local authority or similar residential contracts is highly desirable
- Able to carry out both installation and servicing/maintenance works
- Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Own van and tools
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a daily workload
- Relevant security systems qualifications are desirable but not essential
- Must be able to pass any required client vetting/background checks
