We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic nursery assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with children in a nursery setting. As a nursery assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of young children, fostering a safe and nurturing environment that promotes learning and growth.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that stimulate children's development.
- Support the lead nursery teacher in managing daily routines and ensuring the safety of all children.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to promote a positive nursery experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the nursery environment, ensuring all equipment is safe and suitable for use.
- Observe and record children's progress, providing feedback to parents and colleagues as necessary.
- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their social skills and emotional development.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall success of the nursery.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting is highly desirable.
- A background in Early Childhood Education or related field is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage groups of children effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- A genuine drive to support children's learning and development.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required.
- Knowledge of childcare best practices and child development principles is an advantage.
