Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our team in a very busy cafe. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing excellent customer service and supporting the smooth operation of our café. This role is 18 hrs per week and involves assisting with food and beverage service, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all customers. Previous experience in hospitality, catering, is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in a vibrant and dynamic setting.
Responsibilities
- Serve customers promptly and courteously, taking orders in the cafe ,over the phone and delivering food and beverages with professionalism.
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including tables, counters, and kitchen surfaces
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth daily operations
- other duties by preparing coffee and other hot beverages when required
- Handle cash transactions accurately and operate the till system effectively
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to uphold hygiene standards
- Contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons
Requirements
- Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is desirable but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is essential
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- A positive attitude and willingness to assist with various tasks within the café environment
- Basic organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
