We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team and assist with the day-to-day running of our popular Leicestershire visitor attraction.
As well as helping to look after our animals, you’ll be responsible for supervising our junior team and working directly with the public to provide a fantastic experience and a friendly welcome for all our visitors.
What you’ll be doing in the role –
- Assisting with the day-to-day running of the farm park
- Helping to care for our farm animals
- Leading educational farm tours for visiting school groups
- Overseeing the running of our children’s birthday parties
- Running tractor rides, pony rides and small animal handling sessions
- Supervising junior team members and ensuring tasks are carried out to a high standard
The ideal candidate will -
- Be confident, friendly and enjoy interacting with both customers and staff
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Have experience in a team leading role
- Have experience working with children; ideally in an educational setting
- Be comfortable working outdoors in all weathers
- Be adaptable and proactive – able to think on your feet, learn quickly and handle unexpected situations calmy and effectively
- Have experience working in animal care or a tourism / visitor attraction setting - preferable, but not essential
- Full UK driving licence
- Have a genuine interest in the countryside, farming and rural life
· This is a part-time position, with the potential for full-time hours for the right candidate.
· Availability to work at weekends and during school holidays is essential
· Subject to DBS check
· Salary starting from £12.71ph with the potential for development and higher pay dependant on skills and experience
