Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Distribution Depot Manager and lead the efficient operation of our distribution center. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily logistics activities, manage warehouse operations, and ensure seamless coordination across transportation and supply chain functions. Your leadership will drive process improvements, optimize resource utilization, and uphold safety standards, all while maintaining a focus on profitability and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and order fulfillment
- Manage transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS) to streamline processes and improve efficiency
- Supervise warehouse staff and third-party logistics (3PL) providers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational standards
- Monitor profit & loss statements to control costs, maximize productivity, and enhance overall depot profitability
- Implement process improvements using continuous improvement methodologies to optimize workflows and reduce waste
- Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery and accurate inventory levels
- Utilize ERP systems such as AS400 for inventory tracking, order processing, and reporting purposes
Experience
- Proven supervising experience in warehouse or distribution center environments with a track record of leading high-performing teams
- Strong knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, and transportation management systems (TMS)
- Hands-on experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), shipping & receiving procedures, and forklift operation certification
- Familiarity with third-party logistics (3PL) partnerships and integrating their services into overall operations
- Experience with process improvement initiatives utilizing methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma is highly desirable
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as AS400 for data analysis, reporting, and operational planning
Pay: £51,000.00 per year
