ROLE: Mechanical Maintenance Operative
HOURS: 40 hours per week
LOCATION: HMP Milllsike, North Yorkshire

We're looking for an Mechanical Maintenance Operative who will carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance within a 24-hour, 365-day operational site.
Role Responsibilities:
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance, ensuring that SHE standards are maintained and liaising with engineers and subcontractors, with a proactive approach to client liaison.
- Ensure compliance with and enforcement of existing business risk management procedures for maintenance and project works, completing all work-related documentation accurately and on time.
Investigate and report in detail on infrastructure shortfalls, problems, and incidents, recommending options for remedial actions.
- Comply with company and statutory regulations relating to safe systems of work, health and safety, hygiene, cleanliness, and localised fire regulation procedures, including participation in weekend working, shift rota patterns, and out-of-hours call-out functions.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous relevant experience in providing electrical maintenance services in a large, complex environment.
- Basic to intermediate IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with experience in updating records
Preferred Qualification:
- Possess one of the following: Apprenticeship or equivalent, IOSH or equivalent, C&G/BTEC Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Engineering Parts 1, 2 and 3, NVQ Level 3 in multi-skilled engineering, C&G 2079 F Gas or equivalent, HVAC or gas equivalent, or C&G 2391/2 18th Edition IEE Regulations.
