Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Fire Door Engineer to join our team, specializing in the installation, inspection, and remedial work of fire doors across various commercial and residential properties. Duties
- Install new fire doors in accordance with manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and schematics.
- Conduct thorough inspections of existing fire doors to identify remedial needs or compliance issues.
- Perform remedial works including repairs, adjustments, and replacements of faulty or damaged fire door components.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to modify or repair fire doors as required.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other tradespeople to coordinate installation schedules and ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection reports, remedial actions taken, and compliance documentation.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols during all phases of installation and remedial work.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction trades such as carpentry, masonry, plastering, or fabrication with a focus on fire safety systems.
- Knowledge of schematics and technical drawings related to fire door installation and maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and construction painting.
- Familiarity with roofing, plumbing, electrical systems, or masonry is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong understanding of building regulations related to fire safety and compliance standards for fire doors.
- Ability to read technical schematics and follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude towards troubleshooting remedial issues.
