We are looking for an experienced Class 1 Driver to join our team in a varied and hands-on role within our specialist environmental services business.
This is not simply a driving position. We are looking for someone who wants to become part of the wider operation and is prepared to get involved in a variety of work, including HGV driving, movement of plant and machinery, tanker operations, tank cleaning and specialist environmental works.
The successful candidate must have a flexible approach to work, a willingness to learn and a positive attitude towards taking on a varied role. You will need to be comfortable working on your own initiative when required, while also working effectively as part of a team.
Essential Requirements

Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) HGV licence
- Valid Driver CPC
- Previous Class 1 driving experience
- Good understanding of Drivers' Hours and safe HGV operations
- Flexible approach to work and working hours
- Ability to work independently and use your own initiative
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good attitude towards health and safety
- Willingness to learn new skills and undertake additional training
- Reliable, practical and willing to get involved in the wider operation
Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be an advantage:

Movement and transportation of plant and machinery
- Loading, securing and unloading plant and equipment
- Tanker operations
- Tank cleaning and industrial cleaning
- Environmental services
- Construction and industrial site work
- Operation of specialist vehicles and equipment
Previous tanker and tank cleaning experience is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided for the right person.

We are happy to invest in the right candidate and provide full training and additional tickets and qualifications where required.

While previous experience is important, we place a great deal of value on attitude, flexibility and a genuine willingness to learn.
Salary & Benefits

£39,000–£45,000 per annum, depending on experience, skills and qualifications
- 45-hour working week
- 20 days annual leave plus 8 statutory Bank Holidays – 28 days in total
- Additional day's holiday following two years' service, increasing with length of service up to a maximum of 33 days per annum
