We are currently recruiting for a passionate and committed SEND Teacher to join a specialist all-through autism school in Maidenhead from September 2026. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm, teaching non-verbal pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a supportive, structured and nurturing environment.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that are tailored to the individual needs of each pupil, promoting communication, independence, emotional wellbeing and academic development through a personalised approach to learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs
- Promote communication, independence, emotional wellbeing and academic development
- Use a variety of communication strategies to support non-verbal learners
- Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists and families
- Create consistent and positive learning experiences for every pupil
- Demonstrate excellent behaviour management skills in challenging situations
- Build strong, trusting relationships that enable pupils to feel safe and engaged
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential
- Experience working with pupils with complex SEND needs, particularly those with ASD and communication difficulties
- Confidence using communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, visual supports, sensory-based learning or other alternative communication methods
- Previous experience teaching within a SEND setting highly desirable
- Patient, resilient and genuinely passionate about making a meaningful difference
- Ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations
