Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Assistants to join our team for night shifts. This role involves providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being throughout the night. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work independently during overnight hours. Previous experience in home care or care homes is advantageous, but full training will be provided for suitable applicants. Responsibilities
- Supporting residents with personal care needs such as washing, dressing, and toileting during the night shift
- Assisting with medication administration as per care plans and protocols
- Monitoring residents' health and wellbeing throughout the night, reporting any concerns to senior staff
- Ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all residents by maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
- Documenting observations and updating care records accurately using IT systems
- Responding promptly to residents' calls for assistance or emergencies
- Providing companionship and emotional support to residents during overnight hours
- Assisting with meal or snack preparation if required during the shift
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
- Good understanding of care plans and how to implement them effectively
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing
- Basic IT skills for recording information electronically
- Driving licence is advantageous but not mandatory
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently during night shifts
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals
