Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Locum Pharmacy Dispenser or Technician starting as soon as possible and likely required until the end of the year at the earliest. This role involves supporting pharmacists in dispensing medications accurately and providing excellent patient care. The ideal candidate will have pharmacy experience and a strong commitment to patient safety and confidentiality, and must hold the relevant NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification, dependent on role appointed.
Responsibilities
- All usual requirments and responsibilities expected in the role of Pharmacy Dispenser and/or Pharmacy Technician not limited to but including the following:
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Assist with medication administration and patient consultations as required
- Prepare and label prescriptions in accordance with legal and safety standards
- Maintain meticulous records of dispensed medications and patient interactions
- Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, organised, and compliant with health regulations
- Support patients by providing information about medication usage, side effects, and storage instructions
- Manage stock levels, reorder supplies, and ensure the availability of essential medicines
- Uphold patient confidentiality at all times and adhere to data protection policies
Skills
- Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or dispenser is essential
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy software systems
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to prevent dispensing errors
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work efficiently within a team in a fast-paced environment

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £14.00-£18.00 per hour
