We are looking for another front of house superstar. The role can be part or full time (30-38 hours a week). We are a local independent small animal veterinary practice with a track record for excellent veterinary care. Our receptionists are a vital part of the team and we are looking for someone who can not only gel within the client care team but also work well within the wider team.
Exact shifts can be fairly flexible within our opening hours of 8-7 M-F, but all applicants must be able to work a late finish (7pm) every Friday. This may be in the form of a 6, 8 or 11 hour shift, whatever your preference. Weekend work on a rota basis (with TOIL) is also required, on average 1 in 10 Saturdays (8-4) are required.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Manage appointment scheduling and phone triage to ensure appointments are booked with appropriate urgency.
- Handle incoming calls and inquiries, providing accurate information regarding our services.
- Process payments and manage billing inquiries with attention to detail.
- Ensure the reception area is clean, organised, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Administrative duties including insurance processing and invoicing.
- Collaborate with the wider veterinary team to ensure smooth operations within the clinic.
Requirements
- Previous customer care experience is essential.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and understanding of a small animal veterinary practice is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- IT literacy and ability to pick up new systems quickly.
- A compassionate approach to clients and their pets.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
The offer
- 30-38h per week (depending on preference) with 1 in 10 weekend and bank holiday rota.
- £13.45ph. We are a real living wage accredited employer.
