This position involves a 6-month contract with a local authority, offering a pay rate of £208.98 per day under an umbrella arrangement. The Disrepair Case Officer plays a crucial role in managing and resolving housing disrepair cases to mitigate risks, costs, and legal exposure for the Council. The primary focus is on preventing claims from escalating to litigation, efficiently managing ongoing cases, and ensuring all repair works and legal processes are conducted in compliance with regulations and within designated timeframes.
Responsibilities:

Oversee disrepair cases from the initial complaint through to resolution, with the goal of preventing legal escalation.

Ensure prompt and effective handling of all cases in line with Council procedures.

Monitor the progress of cases, including timelines and costs, while maintaining accurate records.

Provide recommendations on settlement options based on risk assessment, costs, and case specifics.
Requirements:

Experience in managing or supporting disrepair, housing repairs, or casework within a local authority or housing context.

Proficiency in handling complex correspondence and drafting comprehensive reports.

Experience collaborating with contractors or surveyors to deliver services.

Degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience.

Strong understanding of social housing, housing legislation, and disrepair processes.

Familiarity with local authority practices and procedures.

Work arrangement: 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home
