About the Role
Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for Employment Mentors to support the delivery of a Welsh Government-funded employability programme, Communities for Work Plus.
The role will involve providing one-to-one employment support, mentoring and practical guidance to individuals who are currently out of work. You will manage a caseload of clients, helping them overcome barriers to employment and access training, education, development opportunities and sustainable employment.
Candidates with a background as a Support Worker may also be considered, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to transfer their experience into an employability-focused role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of clients using a holistic, person-centred and collaborative approach.
- Provide one-to-one employment mentoring and job search support.
- Build positive and professional relationships with individuals to understand their circumstances, aspirations and barriers to employment.
- Develop comprehensive individual support and action plans with clients.
- Regularly review progress and update support plans where required.
- Identify and help individuals overcome barriers to employment.
- Support clients to access appropriate training, education and development opportunities.
- Assist individuals with job searching, applications, CVs, interviews and other aspects of securing employment.
- Provide ongoing encouragement, motivation and practical support throughout the client's journey.
- Work collaboratively with partner organisations and other employability services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and case management information.
- Monitor and evidence client progress and outcomes.
- Deliver a flexible service based on individual client needs.
About You
We are looking for candidates who are confident working with people from a range of backgrounds and can provide effective support, guidance and mentoring.
Experience in support work, employability, employment support, careers advice, mentoring, key working, community support or social care would be beneficial.
You should have:
- Experience supporting individuals on a one-to-one basis.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A supportive, encouraging and non-judgemental approach.
- The ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
- Good organisational and case management skills.
- The ability to identify barriers and work collaboratively with individuals to overcome them.
- Good IT and written communication skills.
- The ability to manage a caseload and prioritise competing demands.
- A genuine interest in helping people move towards education, training and employment.
