Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support classroom activities and foster an inclusive learning environment. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and students, particularly those with special educational needs, including individuals with autism and disabilities. Duties
- Assist classroom teachers in delivering lessons and organising activities tailored to diverse learning needs.
- Support students with special educational needs, including those with autism or other disabilities, ensuring they can participate fully in class.
- Provide one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to help students improve their academic skills, including creative writing and other subjects.
- Foster a nurturing environment by encouraging positive behaviour, social interaction, and confidence-building among pupils.
- Support the organisation of educational resources and materials to facilitate effective learning experiences.
- Observe student progress and communicate relevant information to teachers or specialists regarding individual development or behavioural concerns.
- Assist in supervising students during breaks, outings, or specialised programmes to ensure safety and engagement.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities or autism is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage children, parents, and colleagues.
- Creative writing skills that can be utilised to develop engaging learning activities and support literacy development.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's growth and learning.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating organisational skills.
- Relevant qualifications in education support or special educational needs are preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates committed to professional development. Pay: £8.05-£12.25 per hour
