Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, surfaces, utensils, and equipment, adhering to health and safety standards
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as washing vegetables, peeling ingredients, and organizing supplies
- Support chefs and kitchen staff by fetching ingredients, replenishing stock, and ensuring all necessary items are readily available
- Clear and clean dishes, cookware, and cutlery promptly to keep the kitchen running efficiently
- Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed diligently
- Help with setting up dining areas or service stations as needed for meal service
- Follow hygiene protocols consistently to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for everyone
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key!
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues
- Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks comfortably
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to food handling is advantageous but not mandatory
