Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate, hard-working and friendly individual to join our Carriages Team. This role mainly involves supporting our kitchen team with cleaning duties and washing crockery from our main services each day. Experience preferred, but happy to train the right candidate. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a dynamic busy restaurant environment.
Hours of work will be varied day shifts, Tuesday to Saturday, between 8am-8pm when needed, working with one other kitchen porter on weekly rotas.
Duties
- Washing, drying, and sanitising dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are met
- Washing & drying of all crockery from our daily services
- Maintaining a clean pot wash area
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients
- Supporting chefs and kitchen staff with organisational tasks such as restocking supplies and maintaining storage areas
- Ensuring the kitchen area is kept clean and tidy throughout shifts, including sweeping and mopping floors
- Assisting in the disposal of waste and recycling in accordance with environmental policies
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment
- Part-time 0 hour contract, shift times and days varied each week between Tuesday to Saturday
- Under 21 - From £11 per hour
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation or hospitality is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of kitchen hygiene standards preferred
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment

We are based in Fen Drayton just outside St Ives and 12 miles from Cambridge city centre and due to our rural location, you must have your own transport, as no public transport.
Pay: From £12.90 per hour
