Due to continued growth, we're looking for experienced 2-Man Fibre UG Pre-Enablement Gangs to support fibre network delivery across Gloucester and the surrounding areas.

The Role
Working as part of an established 2-Man Fibre UG Pre-Enablement Gang, you'll survey, prepare and enable underground fibre routes ahead of customer installations across Openreach and associated telecoms infrastructure.
Your gang will undertake route surveys, underground rodding, route preparation, minor civils and pre-enablement activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the high standards expected by CASS.
Reporting to the Head of Field Delivery, you'll work closely with our Project Office and Field Management teams to deliver projects safely, professionally and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
As part of a 2-Man Fibre UG Pre-Enablement Gang, you and your gang partner will be responsible for:
- Surveying and assessing underground fibre routes to determine the most suitable path for customer installations
- Preparing and enabling underground fibre routes through underground rodding, route preparation and associated enablement activities
- Identifying, investigating and resolving route blockages or network issues, escalating where necessary to maintain programme delivery
- Carrying out minor excavation and reinstatement works where required to enable fibre routes
- Completing all route preparation, pre-enablement activities and route readiness checks to a high standard, ensuring every route is installation-ready while maintaining full compliance with health, safety and industry standards
- Working safely within Openreach, PIA and client network infrastructure, following all relevant procedures and safe systems of work
- Supporting Field Management and Project Teams by assisting with on-site troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Working closely with the Project Office to coordinate pre-installation activities, live installations and service visits, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule
- Accurately completing job documentation, photographic evidence and digital job packs
- Delivering a professional service on every site, maintaining high standards of workmanship and providing an excellent experience for customers and clients
What We're Looking For
We're looking for established 2-Man Fibre Gangs who work well together and have experience delivering underground fibre network projects safely and efficiently.
Your gang will ideally demonstrate:
- Previous experience in underground fibre delivery or fibre pre-enablement works
- Experience working as part of an established 2-Man Fibre Gang
- Strong knowledge of underground telecoms infrastructure
- Good understanding of PIA network infrastructure
- Excellent attention to quality, safety and workmanship
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving on-site issues
- The ability to communicate effectively with Project Teams and the Project Office
- A professional and customer-focused approach
- The ability to work independently while meeting programme deadlines
Essential Requirements
- SA001, SA002, S7, S8 (or equivalent)
- IPAF 1B
- NRSWA
- K8 – Hand Rodding in the Underground Network
- NOPS Smart Awards Card
- Previous underground fibre delivery or fibre pre-enablement experience
- Experience working as part of a 2-Man Fibre Gang
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence (minimum 12 months).
- Clear DBS
