Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable 2nd Fix Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of carpentry and construction, with a focus on finishing work. This role involves working on-site to complete the second fix stage of building projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards. Duties
- Fitting and fixing doors, skirting boards, architraves, and other joinery components
- Installing cabinetry, staircases, and other internal fixtures
- Operating hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
- Assisting with fabrication and assembly of timber structures
- Assisting with plumbing, electrical, masonry, or construction painting tasks when necessary
- Heavy lifting of materials and components to facilitate installation
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations and project specifications
- Collaborating with other trades to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years experience as a 2nd Fix Carpenter or similar role within the construction industry
- Skilled in carpentry, joinery, and the use of hand tools and power tools
- Own van and tools required
- Knowledge of fabrication, assembly, roofing, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, and construction painting is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry or construction trades are preferred but not essential
