About the role:
Activate Learning is recruiting a Senior Learning Support Assistantto join our specialist team based at our brand new Vocational and Lifeskills Hub for Post-16 learners with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities in Wokingham.
You will be supporting young people aged 16-25 with complex needs to re-engage in education through personalised, therapeutic, and vocational pathways. The main purpose of this role is to support the retention and achievement of students attending the centre.
Working closely with the Centre team and external agencies, you will help to ensure that learners with complex needs are adequately provided for and supported.
You will assist in the consultation process of students to accurately identify their learning support needs and to ensure that resources are deployed efficiently with timetabling and duty rotas to provide adequate cover and support throughout the day for our students.
This is a part time (30 hours per week) fixed term contract until July 2027.
What do you need to be a successful Senior LSA at Activate Learning?
The successful candidate will have good knowledge of autism and other learning difficulties and disabilities. You will have knowledge and previous experience of working with Education Health and Care Plans. Understanding the need for a student- centered and trauma informed approach and ability to offer varying support strategies to cover diverse learning needs.
You will have excellent communication and organisation skills; you will be a role model of professionalism with the ability to develop and sustain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
You will be able to work independently and demonstrate flexibility contributing to the team’s effectiveness and be able to react to organisational change quickly and positively.
