Our day nursery in Valentines Park is recruiting for a Nursery Kitchen Assistant who is passionate about nutrition and children's wellbeing!
The role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our nursery by providing nutritious meals for children and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
Timings:
- 20 hours a week, Monday to Friday 10am - 3pm, all-year-round.

Main Duties:
- Meal Preparation: Cooking healthy and balanced meals for our children each day, whilst catering for preferences, allergies and other dietary requirements. This also includes preparing fruit & snacks.
- Housekeeping: Performing general housekeeping duties including cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing kitchen areas and other facilities to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Compliance: Adhere to relevant health and safety regulations, food hygiene standards, and nursery policies and procedures.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain kitchen and cleaning supplies inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels at all times.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a cook or kitchen assistant, preferably in a childcare/educational setting.
- Knowledge of nutrition and experience in preparing meals for children.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent hygiene practices and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Clear background check and screening.
- Training such as food and hygiene certificate and a thorough induction will be provided by the Nursery Manager.
- Successful applicants must undertake an enhanced DBS check and provide suitable references.
